Jeep has revealed the electric Jeep Compass 2026, and it’s more advanced than ever. This new SUV brings bold design, more space, and modern technology. It also introduces several electrified power options, from mild-hybrid to fully electric models. The strongest version makes a powerful 375 horsepower.
For now, Jeep is launching it in Europe first. This shows that Stellantis, Jeep’s parent company, is focusing more on international markets. The American release will come later.
The 2026 Compass is built on the new STLA Medium platform. This platform is also used by other Stellantis vehicles like the Peugeot 3008 and Citroën C5 Aircross. It helps make the Compass longer and roomier. Now, it measures 4,544 mm in length. That’s 155 mm more than the old model.
This bigger size gives more legroom and storage space inside. Passengers in the back seat will enjoy 56 mm more legroom. There is also more cargo space—450 liters behind the rear seats.
Even with changes, the Compass keeps the classic Jeep design. It still has a boxy shape with sharp lines. The headlights are now slimmer and flatter. They sit on each side of a new version of the famous seven-slot grille.
At the back, the SUV has new X-shaped taillights. These are joined by a light bar with an illuminated Jeep logo. To add style and practicality, the car comes with plastic cladding and square wheel arches. A larger rear window makes the back seat feel more open and gives better visibility.
Higher trims come with special features. These include matrix LED headlights, a black roof, and a glass roof.
Even though the Compass is going electric, it is still built for adventure. The 4×4 models have up to 200 mm of ground clearance. Here are the off-road angles:
It can also go through water as deep as 470 mm. All-wheel-drive versions come with hill descent control as standard.
Inside, the Compass looks completely new. Even the base model comes with a huge 16-inch touchscreen for infotainment. It also includes a 10.0-inch digital instrument panel.
Despite the large screens, Jeep has kept physical buttons for important controls. These are located just below the screen. There’s a red switch for the Selec-Terrain drive system and a rotary gear selector. You’ll also find the electronic parking brake nearby.
The cargo area is more practical now, with split-folding seats in a 40:20:40 format. Sadly, EV models do not include a front trunk.

The most powerful AWD version uses a new rear motor made just for Jeep. It helps the SUV drive up a 20% slope even when the front tires have no grip.
To save energy, Jeep added a flat underbody, special aerodynamic wheels, and active grille shutters.
The electric Compass also supports 160 kW DC fast charging. With this, the battery can go from 20% to 80% in about 30 minutes.
Jeep has opened orders in Europe already. However, only the Italian website shows prices. The base single-motor EV starts at €41,900, and the top AWD version with the larger battery is just under €50,000. Other pricing details, including for the “First Edition,” are not yet available.
Production will take place at the Melfi plant in Italy, with deliveries starting in late 2025.
American buyers will have to wait until 2026. The U.S. version was first planned to be made in Canada at the Brampton plant. But Stellantis paused production there to rethink its strategy.
